Barbara McClatchie Andrews

Barbara McClatchie Andrews is a Canadian photojournalist whose images and writing explore culture in the developing world. Her photographs and photo essays have an international audience.

In the past decade, she has worked in more than 50 developing countries. Many of the resulting photo essays were published in The World & I, a Washington Times Corporation magazine. Her photographs - both landscapes and portraits - have appeared in Archaeology and National Geographic magazines amongst others and have been exhibited in Canada, The United States, Guatemala, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico.

Barbara also adapts her work for various interest groups and institutions as varied as Hamilton College in New York, and the faculty of Architecture, UADY, Mérida Yucatán.

She currently lives Vancouver, Canada and maintains a residence in Mérida, Mexico, where she runs a non-profit gallery for both emerging and established artists.

The work she is doing today in Mérida is abstract and inspired by Mérida's art and richly varied cityscape.
